Hello, 

 

My name is Nanyeli Veras, I’m eighteen years old and I was born in the Dominican Republic. I came to the United States when I was six years old along with my sister. From the start of this semester to now I have grown a lot more confident in my writing and have tried to not second doubt myself. I intend to study Criminal Justice to fulfill my dream of becoming a Criminal Detective which has been my dream ever since I was a child. I picked John Jay as my college because it’s the best school for the major I want to major in and I know a lot of people who have attended this college and have all had a good experience. I also chose John Jay because when I went on an orientation it felt like a community I would want to be part of.
